Substrate Compatibility

SN-UltraTop (SLE) is suitable for application over concrete, wood, tile or metal. Not recommended on asphalt or painted surface.

Substrate Requirements Minimums
  • Minimum compressive strength: 25 N/mm²
  • Substrate must be sound, clean, and free from laitance, dust, and contamination
  • Substrate dryness: maximum 75% relative humidity (BS 8204)
  • Must be free from rising damp and groundwater pressure
System Options Cove Base

Cove Base: To provide an integral seal at the joint between the floor and wall. Coving can be formed with SN-UltraTop (SLE) Coving Mortar in conjunction with SN-100 SLE Primer.

Packaging 20 kg set

SN-UltraTop (SLE) is packaged in a 20 kg set, consisting of:

ComponentQuantity
Part A17.5 kg
Part B2.5 kg
Coverage Approximate
ThicknessMaterials
1 mm1.5 to 1.6 kg / sq.m
Note: It depends on the floor’s condition.
Substrate Preparation Essential

Proper surface preparation is essential to achieve optimal adhesion. The substrate must be dry, structurally sound, and free from grease, fats, oils, laitance, and all other contaminants.

Preparation shall be carried out by totally enclosed shot blasting or mechanical scarification to produce a clean, open-textured surface with a profile comparable to fine sandpaper, suitable for effective bonding.

Priming Sealing

Normal porous surfaces should be fully sealed and primed using two coats of Primer.

Mixing Steps
  • Add Part B into Part A and mix with the blender for 60 seconds.
  • Scrape out residue of previous mix from the sides of the drum and discard before mixing the next pack.
Pot Life Working time

SN-UltraTop (SLE) has working time of approximately 20–30 minutes at 30°C. Working time varies depending on temperature.

Application Method
  • Material must be used immediately after mixing.
  • Use V-notched hand trowel and pull through the material at right angles to the floor.
  • Use a spiked roller to allow air to escape and push aggregate down, allowing liquids to come to surface.
  • Use a screed rake to distribute the mix onto the floor.
Hardening Time 30°C
  • At 30°C allow 12 hours for light traffic.
  • At 30°C allow 24 hours for full traffic.
  • At 30°C allow 5 days for fully chemical cure.
Shelf Life Storage
  • Store unopened in dry conditions at 25–35°C.
  • Avoid excessive heat and do not freeze.
  • Shelf life is 12 months in original, unopened container.
Cleaning Up Solvents

Clean up mixing and application equipment immediately after use. Use toluene or xylene. Observe all fire and health precautions when handling or storing solvent.

Important Work breaks
Interruption control: In the event of any extended interruption in mixing (e.g., lunch break), all mixing paddles and containers must be thoroughly cleaned before work is suspended to prevent contamination by partially cured material. Such contaminants can impair trowelability, surface finish quality, and overall floor performance.
Caution Health & Safety
Avoid contact: Avoid contact with Part A and B as they may cause skin and/or eye irritation. In case of contact, immediately flush area with copious amounts of clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Applicators should cover hands with impervious gloves. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after use and before eating, smoking, etc.
